MEET THE TEAM

Meet The Team

The Shimmy Showgirl Collective was created by 5 independent Melbourne-based Producers.  They all specialise in burlesque performance and have a combined performance experience of an incredible 48 years! They also have unique talents behind the curtain creating, directing and producing live entertainment all over Australia. Get to know them all a little better here.

Boo Louise

From an early age this petite hell raiser has been tearing up the stage, some of her earliest memories are of sashaying, twirling and glimmering around the dance floor. As this little ballerina grew up she craved something indefinable, something risqué, something to fulfil that dark, lingering desire lurking deep within.

Learning the tricks of the trade from the best in the business Boo found the enticing world of burlesque and tease too much to resist and she hasn't looked back since.

Skilled in jazz, tap and ballet Boo is relishing the chance to pass on her years of hard earned knowledge through her teaching. She is proud of her achievements producing the acclaimed show 'Burlesque With Attitude', showcasing some of Australia's best and brightest in the burlesque industry, whilst offering new talent a chance to shine.

A combination of dancer, teacher, showgirl and producer, makes Boo the very definition of a complete package.

Petite but larger than life this versatile Vixen will have you glued to your seat in anticipation. She's naughty, she's nice and she's here for your delight.

Gemma Sheree

Gemma Sheree is producer of Melbourne's bayside burlesque show Gloriana Burlesque. Coming from a live music background, she started working as a volunteer at shows at the age of 17 for the Australia Government funded youth initiative Freeza. She then obtained a certificate in Music Business Management from NMIT, which led her to put together her own events, including metal, goth and punk gigs. As burlesque became more popular in Melbourne in the early 2000's, she became a fan of it's theatrical glamour and tongue-in-cheek humour. Moving to the UK in 2006, she found herself under the tuition of mentor Venus Noir and performed her first solo on New Years Eve 2007. Whilst travelling around the UK regularly as a solo performer and teacher, Gemma produced regular burlesque shows in the South West such as 'Fight Fire With Fire', 'Coco Boudoir' and 'Burlesque at the Three Horseshoes', working with such artists as Vicky Butterfly, Diva Hollywood, Beatrix Von Bourbon, Polly Rae, Leyla Rose, Khandie Khisses, Carrie-Ann O'Dell and Chrys Columbine. She also put together a burlesque and cabaret talent agency which sourced corporate work for performers.

Returning to Australia in 2014 she went into semi-retirement as a performer, but continued to teach weekly classes and in 2017 developed 'Gloriana Burlesque', a production that showcases burlesque and variety cabaret in venues on the Mornington Peninsula.

Marilyn Mocktail

What do you get when you mix a splash of cheekiness, a touch of sass and a dazzling smile? Marilyn Mocktail of course! Providing a delicious recipe of fun and entertainment every time she hits the stage, Miss Mocktail is a rising starlet in the Melbourne Burlesque scene and one to watch.

Best known for her high energy dance routines and diverse characters, Marilyn has toured her colourful and unique style across Australia including performances at Adelaide Fringe, the Australian Burlesque Festival, Miss Burlesque ACT, Vanguard Burlesque (QLD) and Curves and Claws (QLD).

Marilyn’s ability to transform from the classic elegance of traditional Burlesque tease to the theatrical and humorous world of Neo Burlesque in her wide range of acts has seen her awarded Runner-up in Burlesque Idol Melbourne (2016) and “Act of the Year” by Sunny D Promotions (2016). When she’s not performing Marilyn is busy behind the scenes producing events such as her creative variety show True Colours Cabaret, and working as a co-producer and stage manager of The Goblin Ball.

Whether she’s embodying a haggard old witch desperate for youth, a greedy Grinch out to steal Christmas, a hot fireman trying to cool down or simply bumping and grinding her rhinestoned booty across the stage, Marilyn Mocktail is a delectable delight that you do not want to miss!
